About NOTICED

Our history

NOTICED is the UK’s first inter-firm diversity network aimed at promoting networking opportunities to integrate, celebrate and educate on diversity across the legal sector. Our objectives are:

  • To encourage diversity in the legal profession and amongst member firms with a view to making the profession more accessible to individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds
  • To raise awareness about issues faced by ethnic minorities, not just in accessing the profession but also in their progression within the profession
what we are working for

Our objectives

The network strongly believes that diversity and inclusion add value to an organisation in attracting and retaining the very best talent, fostering innovation and meeting the needs of diverse clients in today’s global environment.

It achieves its objectives by providing opportunities to individuals to interact on a social and professional level and discuss issues on culture, initiate action for change and celebrate success.

The network is open to both lawyers, in law firms and in-house, and those engaged in business services in the legal profession.

The network was officially launched in March 2013 by eight City law firms, which were keen to work towards resolving issues faced by individuals from ethnic minorities. Since its launch, the network has been joined by other like-minded City firms.

The network is supported by The Law Society of England and Wales and Race for Opportunity. The network has also been appointed as a member of The Law Society’s Ethnic Minority Lawyers Division.
